If you´re looking for a photographic holiday, a short getaway with a photography class or two or to organise a course for your photography group then we recommend the lovely Finca Gordo B&B as the perfect destination for both photographer and non-photographers.
In beautiful Andalucia on the edge of the Sierra Tejada, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park in the province of Malaga just 30 minutes from the coast Finca Gordo on the edge of the town of Riogordo is a perfect location to improve your photography skills with professional photographer Peter Laarakker who together with his wife Marina run this cosy B&B with flair.
Four en suite rooms are stylishly decorated and the walls are adorned by some beautiful photography by Peter who has travelled much of the world on photographic assignments.
Who are the Photography Classes & Courses intended for?
Peter will happily guide any level from novice to more experienced.
How does it work?
On the course day the participant will be given an assignment and Peter will be present at the photo location the morning or afternoon to give advice. It is possible to work from Finca Gordo or travel a maximum of 1.5 hours to a photo location.
If you´d rather want work individually, that is no problem. After the photo session we go back to our Bed and Breakfast, where we edit and talk about our photos. At about 8 o’clock we have dinner together to discuss the day and plan the following one.
The program is interactive and can always be adapted to the wishes of the student or the course organiser. Subjects that will be covered are shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length, composition, playing with light, exposure, black and white, stitching, long exposures, movement, etc.
What do you need?
Preferably a camera that can make RAW files and a laptop. If you have images that you have taken before and want to discuss them then bring them along.

Peter Laarakker, professional photographer since 1984, works under the name Visual Photo Design. He now has about 30 years of experience as a professional photographer and has extensive knowledge in the field of digital photography. He uses a NIKON camera and shoots almost 100% in RAW. Later the images are “developed” in the photo editing program Lightroom.
Peter has trained many interns to become professional photographers and helped many amateurs to take better images. With his Montessori approach you learn by doing it yourself.
