When heading to Andalusia do as the Moors did and enjoy an atmoshperic, indulgent and sensual Arab Bath but where are they?
The Al Ándalus chain of Hammam Baths have three in Andalusia, one in Madrid and one in Palma, it´s to the south of Spain, heat, sunshine, tapas, flamenco and history we´re looking at today.
Five centuries after the Catholic Kings closed all the Baths when they regained the city of Granada, the last stronghold, and ousted the Moors Arab Baths are experiencing a revival. Many Arab Baths remain today throughout the land but not many are in use as baths and massage salons, they remain unused, museums to a culture that once ruled.

The Hammam Al Ándalus in Granada was the first to reopen in 1998. It is housed in a 13th century building on the site of an original ancient hammam. Although it has rebuilt and it still has lots of character with its hot, warm and cold pools, steam room and tea lounge. Low lights and wafting music make it difficult not to relax. The Islamic-designs, rising steam (from the hot bath) soothes as you cleanse and detox. Float, dunk between the pools, sip mint tea and choose your fragrant oil for your massage – you won´t want the experience to end.

Located near the incredible Mezquita Córdoba’s Arabic baths are the largest in Europe. It is ornately decorated like all the Bath in the typically Arabic style, ornate, graceful and intricate decor. Relax in different temperature pools before enjoying a choice of massages with essential oils of lavender, red amber rose, orange blossom.
Hammam Al Ándalus, Malaga
Well situated next to Arab wall remains in the city centre the Hammam Al Ándalus Malaga´s inspiration is the Nasrid palaces. With its star-shaped skylights to relax under, the ambiance takes you back centuries and brings peace to your soul. Colourful mosaics and those gorgeous Arabic designs make it an great place to unwind. A session at the end of a days exploring and pavement pounding is ideal.
