The Spanish city taking the title Capital Española de la Gastronomia for 2022 is Sanlúcar de Barrameda in the province of Cádia, Andalucia. Announced on Friday 19 November at the INTUR (Inland Tourism Trade Fair) which was held in Valladolid.
The Region of Murcia, which was the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy for 2021, will hand over the baton to Sanlúcar de Barrameda. So on 1 January 2022 until 31 December 2022 Sanlúcar de Barrameda is the place to go, the place to dine and sample all the riches it has to offer.
This annual award annually goes to the city or autonomous community which is most committed to promoting its gastronomy and as such is an attractive tourist destination.
After deliberation by the Jury of the various projects and locations presented the envelope containing the name of Sanlúcar de Barrameda was opened.
