Michelin Guide Spain has announced its new list of restaurants and two new Michelin stars go to two local Mallorcan chefs bringing the total to nine on the island.  A first Green Star for the island was also awarded to local chef Andreu Genestra for the sustainable operation of his restaurant at Hotel Predi Son Jaumell in Capdepera.

The past ten years or so has brought about big changes as the island’s gastronomy scene has completely turned around with more local chefs achieving this high level and promoting the fabulous local produce with style.

The new Michelin stars were awarded to local Mallorcan chefs, Santi Taura for his DINS
restaurant within the boutique hotel El Llorenç Parc de la Mar in Palma, and to father and son,
Benet and Jaume Vicens of Bens d’Avall restaurant in Soller/Deia.
