La Galeria Elefante Victoria Durrer-Gasse’s elegante treasure trove of Ibiza inspired designs are now available online. Recently launched the pretty, carefree collection of dresses and Victoria’s handmade jewellery can now be ordered from your armchair as well as the store near the pretty town of Santa Gertrudis in Ibiza.
The shop itself is a delightful ancient farmhouse with lots of rooms where there’s an incredible array of antique and reworked furnishings, textiles, artwork, antique toys, embroidered cushions, essential oils and fragrances and hand-painted cards.
The basis of La Elefante’s philosophy is the important message of giving back and all items are made supporting, encouraging & empowering women, as well as sustaining disappearing craftsmanship.
Victoria has been visiting Ibiza since the 1970s. She moved there in the late 1990s with her husband and son. Her study and love of textiles has led her to design clothes and artwork using embroidery & needlework, inspired by her grandmother. Victoria designs, creates & sources unique pieces and adds her twist to create a unique and sought after collection of clothes and home linens.
One of the jewels of her collection is a sought-after flowing printed cotton and silk midi-dresses inspired by the essence of Ibiza.
Look online at the ‘Jody’ dress which comes in five beautiful prints and is a cotton maxi/midi dress. It has gathering detail at the skirt for a tiered effect and can be worn loose or belted.
Later this year new styles will be arriving including beautiful vintage-inspired pleated dresses printed with teal/pink, lilac/blue or mint green botanical hand-blocked prints. Or try out a new gypsy blouse in delicate cotton with a thin scalloped edge, or the long-sleeved cotton onesie with contrasting red stitching on navy.
Handmade jewellery by Victoria this season includes dainty multi-coloured semi-precious stone necklaces that you can layer up, gypsy three vertical hoop earrings or teensy gold plated charms, that include mini-pomegranates, elephants, stars, cacti and seahorses as collectable pieces to add to a chunky chain bracelet.
