When exploring Ronda and having just crossed the famous Puente Nuevo or New Bridge I spotted a rather unusual tapas menu along with a very pretty plant-fillled terrace and was sold.

On closer inspection I’d stumbled upon the lovely 4* Hotel El Poeta, former home of the poet Pedro Pérez Clotet is in the very heart of this beautiful if busy little town and the tapas and terrace were even better than I’d anticipated.

Individually decorated rooms with antique furniture and  traditional Andalusian decor it is both charming and different. Each room stylish room has views and the outside Café/Restaurant serves very good typical regional dishes and homemade desserts.

With just 12 rooms this isn’t serious luxury but certainly one of the best in town and if you haven’t visited Ronda yet you should. I keep going back.
