In Travel and Leisure’s World’s Best Hotels list which is compiled from Readers’ votes only one Spanish hotel appears and that is the fabulous Hotel Alfonso XIII in the heart of Seville built in 1929 and renovated in 2012.
With nearly 40 percent of the hotels listed being in America I rather wonder how many of the voters are American. Without a doubt the Alfonso is a worthy inclusion as are many other Spanish hotels, but with a worldwide list how is it possible to narrow it down to fifty hotels?
Perhaps I should start to compile my own Spain’s Best Hotels list or even city by city – Seville’s Best Hotels, Madrid’s Best Hotel etc. Now there’s a thought for future posts.
