The luxury Spanish villa market has a huge range of exclusive villas, styles and prices. Is a personal chef a must? Do you want an isolated property? Games room? Spa? Horse riding on site? So many decisions and choices to be looked at and made, but where do you start looking?

I’ve put together three of my favourite sites, picked and linked to my personal choice of property on mainland Spain from each one of them. Some sites focus only on Spain, while others feature fabulous villas worldwide.

From Abercrombie & Kent Villas I’ve chosen Villa Sancha in Ronda, Andalucia. Not far from the Costa del Sol but world’s away in scenery and calm. Villa Sancha has 7 bedrooms and sleeps up to 12. Just 10 minutes from Ronda, one of my favourite small Andalucian towns, and the gorgeous White Villages and with great views of Grazalema National Park.

ROnda

From Elegant Resorts it’s a more modern touch near the coast at the stylish golf Villa El Cano. With 10 bedrooms, sleeping up to 25 guests this villa with Mediterranean views next to Los Flamingos golf course may well keep you on site with gymnasium, sauna and hot tub, two swimming pools and huge gardens. If not Puerto Banus and Marbella are just a short drive away.

Villa El Cano

The Big Domain – My choice on The Big Domain, as the name suggests offers large houses for groups, is Mas de la Serra, Catalonia. An eight-bedroom stone farmhouse sleeping up to 20 people. This is a real getaway set in 60 acres within the mountains in the lesser known town of Teruel in the region of Aragon, inland between Barcelona and Valencia.
