From the road there’s a glimpse of this impressive building then nothing until you arrive via the private road through olive groves and there it stands in simple splendour, the ancient convent La Magdalena now a lovely 5* hotel with golf.
A huge walled terrace with piped music for sitting in the sun (not the day I was there) and enjoying the incredible peace and views welcomes you. Then inside, the reception with huge fireplace and sitting area, the bar and the fabulously painted corridors are heavenly – a world away from the hustle and bustle of life and now a world away from the austerity of its former life.
A real escape from business and a fabulous rural retreat.
